About Lucy's Walks for Paws — Dog Walking with Heart

A family-run business built on genuine love for dogs and the Warwickshire countryside

For years, Lucy and Adam have been the trusted choice for dog owners across Warwick, Leamington Spa and the surrounding villages. This is our story.

Our Story

How Lucy's Walks for Paws Began

...

Lucy and a happy dog from Walks for Paws

Lucy's Walks for Paws was born from a simple truth: Lucy has never met a dog she didn't adore. Growing up surrounded by dogs in Warwickshire, she developed a deep understanding of canine behaviour, body language and welfare that no textbook could ever teach. Every dog she encountered brought her joy, and it became clear that working with dogs wasn't just something she wanted to do — it was what she was meant to do.

After years of walking her own dogs and looking after friends' and neighbours' pets (often for free, simply because she loved it), the message was unmistakable: turn this passion into a profession. In 2020, Lucy's Walks for Paws officially opened its doors — or rather, its leads — in Warwick. What started as a handful of regular clients in the local area quickly grew through word of mouth, as more and more dog owners in Warwick, Leamington Spa and the surrounding Warwickshire villages discovered the difference that genuine care makes.

The business grew steadily because Lucy treated every dog as if it were her own. She learned each dog's personality, their quirks, their favourite sniffing spots, and which dogs they got along with. This personalised approach became the foundation of everything Lucy's Walks for Paws stands for.

Before long, demand outstripped what one person could manage alone. That is when Adam joined the team — first as a helping hand on busier days, then as a full partner in the business. Together, Lucy and Adam have built a dog walking service that is known across Warwick and Leamington for its warmth, reliability and unwavering commitment to dog welfare.

Today, Lucy's Walks for Paws serves dozens of families across the region, from Warwick town and Leamington Spa through to Whitnash, Cubbington, Lillington, Woodloes, Milverton and Sydenham. But the heart of the business remains exactly what it was on day one: a genuine, unconditional love for dogs and a desire to give them the happiest, safest walks possible.

The People Behind the Leads

Lucy's dog walking service in action

Lucy

Founder & Lead Dog Walker

Lucy is the heart of Lucy's Walks for Paws. With a lifelong passion for dogs and years of hands-on experience walking and caring for dogs of every breed, size and temperament, she brings an intuitive understanding of canine behaviour to every walk. Lucy is fully insured, canine first-aid trained, and committed to ongoing professional development so she can provide the highest standard of care.

What sets Lucy apart is her ability to read each dog as an individual. She knows when a dog needs a gentle, slow-paced walk versus an energetic adventure. She spots subtle changes in behaviour that might indicate discomfort or stress. Every dog in her care receives the same attention and affection she would give her own.

Adam

Partner & Dog Walker

Adam joined Lucy's Walks for Paws as demand grew, and he quickly proved himself just as devoted to the dogs in his care as Lucy is. With the same commitment to welfare, safety and reliability, Adam has become a familiar and trusted face to clients and dogs alike across Warwick and Leamington.

Adam shares Lucy's philosophy that every dog deserves a walk tailored to their needs. Whether it is a calm solo stroll for a nervous rescue or an energetic group adventure for a sociable spaniel, Adam adapts his approach to suit each dog's personality. Clients regularly comment on how their dogs light up when they see Adam arrive — the surest sign of a dog walker who truly cares.

Our Philosophy

How We Approach Every Walk

Dog First, Always

Your dog's welfare comes before everything. We never compromise on safety, comfort or happiness. Every decision we make on a walk puts your dog first.

Safety Above All

Full public liability insurance, canine first-aid trained, carefully matched group sizes, and secure field access. Your peace of mind is built into everything we do.

Personal & Reliable

We take the time to know every dog as an individual. Consistency matters — your dog sees familiar faces, follows familiar routines, and gets the care they deserve.

Tailored to Each Dog

No two dogs are the same. We adapt every walk to suit your dog's age, energy level, temperament and preferences. From gentle strolls to high-energy adventures, we match the walk to the dog.

Open Communication

We keep you informed with updates and photos from every walk. You always know what your dog is up to and how they are doing. No guesswork, no surprises.

Community Roots

We are proud to be part of the Warwick and Leamington community. We support local businesses, build lasting relationships with our clients, and care about the neighbourhoods we serve.

Qualifications & Insurance

Professional Standards You Can Rely On

When you trust someone with your dog, you need absolute confidence in their professionalism. At Lucy's Walks for Paws, we take that responsibility seriously. We hold comprehensive public liability insurance that covers every walk and visit we undertake, giving you complete peace of mind that your beloved pet is protected at all times.

Beyond insurance, both Lucy and Adam are canine first-aid trained, meaning we are equipped to handle any minor injuries or health concerns that might arise during a walk. We carry a fully stocked first-aid kit on every outing and know exactly how to respond in the unlikely event of an emergency. Your dog's safety is never left to chance.

We are also fully DBS checked, providing that extra layer of reassurance for our clients. And we don't stop there. We believe in continuous improvement — staying up to date with best practices in dog care, behaviour and welfare through ongoing learning and professional development. Whether it is understanding the latest thinking on canine body language or refining our group-walking techniques, we are always looking for ways to be better for your dogs.

Every dog is treated with the care, respect and dignity they deserve. That is not just a promise — it is the standard we set for ourselves every single day.

Our Walks

Exploring the Best of Warwickshire

One of the greatest privileges of being a dog walker in Warwickshire is the sheer beauty of the countryside on our doorstep. From the open green spaces around Warwick Castle and the scenic paths along the River Avon to the quiet country lanes and ancient woodlands that surround Leamington Spa, we have access to some of the most beautiful walking routes in the Midlands.

We take pride in knowing the best local walks for every kind of dog. Need a gentle, flat route for a senior dog with stiff joints? We know just the place. Want a long, stimulating adventure for a high-energy working breed? We have routes that will tire them out in the best possible way. Wet, muddy day? We have paths that stay passable and fields where dogs can splash through puddles to their heart's content.

In addition to our regular walking routes across Warwick and Leamington, we have exclusive access to a fully enclosed, private secure field in the Warwickshire countryside. This gives every dog in our care the opportunity for a proper, off-lead free run in a completely safe environment — ideal for dogs that need to burn off extra energy, those that are still building their recall, or anyone who simply loves to sprint without boundaries.

We rotate our routes regularly to keep things fresh and enriching for the dogs. A bored dog is not a happy dog, and we believe variety is essential for mental stimulation. Every walk is an adventure, and every adventure is designed with your dog's happiness in mind.

Why We Started

A Business Built on Love for Dogs

Lucy's Walks for Paws was never about filling a gap in the market or chasing a business trend. It was about doing what you love and making a difference. Lucy saw a need in Warwick and Leamington for a dog walking service that truly prioritised the dog — not just a quick walk around the block to tick a box, but a genuine, enriching experience that dogs would look forward to every day.

Too often, Lucy heard stories from other dog owners about walkers who rushed through their rounds, walked too many dogs at once, or simply didn't take the time to understand each dog's individual needs. She knew she could do better. More importantly, she wanted to do better. Every dog deserves a walk that makes their tail wag from start to finish.

That philosophy has never changed. As the business has grown from a handful of clients to a thriving local service serving dozens of families across Warwick, Leamington Spa, Whitnash, Cubbington, Lillington and beyond, the core mission has stayed the same: give every dog the walk they deserve, treat every client with honesty and respect, and be a positive force in the community.

We didn't start this business to get rich. We started it because we love dogs and we love what we do. Every muddy paw print, every excited bark when we arrive, every happy, tired dog curled up after a long walk — that is what makes it all worthwhile.

Community

Part of Warwick & Leamington's Community

Being a dog walker in Warwick and Leamington Spa means being part of a wonderful, close-knit community of dog lovers. We are proud to be embedded in the local area — we live here, we walk here, and we care deeply about the neighbourhoods we serve. Our clients are not just customers; they are our neighbours, our friends, and fellow members of the Warwickshire dog-owning community.

We are proud supporters of local businesses across Warwick and Leamington. From recommending trusted local vets and pet supply shops to collaborating with fellow pet-care professionals, we believe in lifting up the community that supports us. We regularly share recommendations for the best dog-friendly pubs and cafes in the area — because a good walk deserves a good pub lunch afterwards.

We also love seeing our dogs out and about in the community. There is nothing better than hearing from a neighbour or fellow dog owner that they recognise one of "Lucy's dogs" from the park — it is a sign that we are doing something right, and that our dogs are happy, well-socialised ambassadors for what we do.

As a small, family-run business, every client matters to us. We take the time to build real relationships, not just transactional arrangements. We know your dog's name, their favourite toy, their funny little habits. That personal touch is what makes Lucy's Walks for Paws special, and it is something we will never lose as we continue to grow.

Why Trust Lucy's

Committed to Reliability and Trust

Reliability is the foundation of any great dog walking service. Your dog depends on us being there, on time, every time — and so do you. Whether you need daily walks while you are at work, occasional cover when your schedule changes, or last-minute help in a pinch, Lucy and Adam are there. We have built our reputation on being the dog walkers who show up, rain or shine.

We understand that life is unpredictable, and we pride ourselves on being flexible and accommodating. Need to add an extra walk at short notice? No problem. Going on holiday and need daily drop-in visits? We can arrange that. Our clients appreciate that we treat their needs with the same care and attention we give their dogs.

Trust is earned, and we work hard every day to earn yours. From the moment we meet you and your dog for a free initial consultation, through every walk, every update, and every interaction, our goal is to demonstrate that we are worthy of your confidence. We communicate clearly, we are honest about what we can and cannot do, and we always put your dog's welfare first.

The testimonials from our clients speak for themselves — 19 five-star Google reviews, countless word-of-mouth recommendations, and relationships that have lasted for years. That is the trust we have built, and it is the trust we will continue to earn, one walk at a time.
